Whether you’re making treats for a Halloween gathering, or just making something to snack on, we’ve got a blog for you! In this week’s Lexington Hills Blog, we’ve got a few recipes for Halloween treats to share with you. These treats are a good option for both adults and kids, so try it out today!

Peanut Butter Monsters

  • 6 tablespoons butter, softened

  • 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter

  • 1/4 cup marshmallow cream

  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla

  • pinch of salt

  • 2 cups powdered sugar

  • 1 bag green candy melts

  • 30 large candy eyes

  • purple sprinkles

What’s Halloween without monsters? Create your own monsters with this recipe for peanut butter monsters! Don’t worry though, they’re not the scary type of monsters. Think Mike Wazowski instead of Swamp Thing. Try it out for your kids today!

Black Bottom Brownies

  • 3/4 c. (1 1/2 sticks) unsalted butter, cut into pieces, plus more for pan

  • 8 oz. bittersweet chocolate, chopped

  • 1 tsp. pure vanilla extract

  • 1 1/4 c. sugar

  • 1/2 c. unsweetened cocoa powder

  • 1/2 tsp. instant espresso powder

  • 1/4 tsp. kosher salt

  • 4 large eggs

  • 1 c. all-purpose flour, spooned and leveled

Cheesecake topping

  • 8 oz. (1 package) cream cheese, at room temperature

  • 1 large egg, at room temperature

  • 2 tbsp. sugar

  • 1 tsp. pure vanilla extract

Brownies are great, but brownies with a hint of espresso? Even better. Try this recipe when you’re puttering around in the kitchen during the Halloween season. Invest in some funky cookie cutters and make some awesome brownies!

Rice Krispy Mummies

  • 6 snack-size Rice Krispie treats

  • 3 cup white chocolate chips

  • black edible piping gel or icing (found near cake decorating supplies)

  • optional: red food coloring
