Since we’re in Eagan, MN, we’re no strangers to the cold, but it’s still a good idea to prepare for the colder weather. In this week’s Lexington Hills Blog, we’ve got a few reminders for you on how you can prepare for the impending winter weather.
Appropriate Clothing
Because the weather here can get pretty cold, you’ll want to make sure that you have appropriate clothing that will keep you warm. Functional beats out stylish when it comes to the cold, but if you can find the happy medium between both, you’re in a good spot. Make sure that your clothing can keep you warm despite the snow and wind that is sure to happen this winter. If at all possible, layer so you can keep warm. The last thing you want is to get frostbite!
Bust Out the Blankets
Your home is your safe haven, make it more cozy by busting out the blankets or investing in some warm ones. Nothing beats wrapping yourself in a warm blanket as you cuddle up to watch a movie or the fire crackle. Find the type of blankets you like to use, not just the ones that are the most popular. If you enjoy the fleece type blankets, go for it! Not only will these blankets be functional, they’ll give your home a more comfortable feel for all those who enter, which is a nice feeling to come home to.
Car Maintenance
Things can get snowy here in Minnesota, so make sure your vehicle can adequately handle the inclement weather. Take your vehicle to the shop to make sure it runs properly. It’s not only embarrassing but potentially hazardous for a car to break down during a snowstorm, so do your due diligence and get your car checked!
